Today is going to be a short post. The reason for that is because today was our rest day. This is the day you let the body recover – after several hard workout days. Rest and recovery is how you move forwards and stay consistent.
When you put the body under stress which is the case when you push yourself or go through a High Intensity Training (HIT) session, you are causing micro tears within muscle fibres. Whilst the theory is that when your muscles repair themselves they become stronger, this does not mean you train hard seven days a week. The body needs time to recover and repair, and psychologically you also need a break from pushing yourself. It can be easy to be enthusiastic and push hard for a few weeks, and suddenly fall off the wagon. All that progress is suddenly lost and you are back to the drawing board.
I am sure this is not where you want to be. Consistency is something we are working towards over this 30 days and beyond.
Today is simple. We encouraged taking a break today. Spend time with family, put your feet up (rest the legs, knees, arms), and relax (physically and mentally). We didn’t even calorie count today….😀. What did we do, exactly that!
See you tomorrow – we are back into it tomorrow. Team from Titan.
